Breakout Boxes:
Collaborate and Engage while Training Content

*Extended Session*

Paula Hanger, Jared Williams, & Traci Saor

Sept 11, 2018 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Have you experienced breakout rooms?

Breakout Box is the same idea, but you are breaking into a box.  The first 45 minutes of this session will be breaking into a box locked with multiple locks. Challenged participants open the locked boxes using critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. The breakout consists of physical and digital puzzle elements solved (or maybe not) in 45 minutes or less.  Three different topics: “Got Engagement?”, “Together Everyone Achieves More, TEAM”, and “Cheers to a Great PLC”. After breaking into the boxes a general debrief occurs along with brief discussions of teamwork, PLC’s (Professional Learning Communities) and engagement strategies.

Participants will discuss Breakout EDU, practice a new approach to training using “out of the box” problem solving, and analyze 3 topics:  professional learning communities, team building and participant engagement. Bring your phone, tablet or computer to assist in this 2 hour presentation.

TD’s competency areas for this presentation align with training delivery and learning technologies.
