New Realities: XR (Extended Reality)
Coming to Your Senses!
March 12, 2019 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Ken Parker presents...
A jellyfish just glided past you! Are you hallucinating or did a hologram just trick your eyes and brain into believing you are underwater? XR (Extended Reality) is the catch-all term for a rapidly developing class of digitally enhanced experiences known by various names: Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Virtual Reality. XR is a powerful and fundamentally different way to deliver compelling experiences for people. The uses and impacts are just beginning to be explored across many dimensions of our lives, from entertainment to education and far more. Ken Parker will explain XR, how it works, and how you can potentially use it for your business and training. A lifelong learner and optimist, Ken Parker developed software for Martin Marietta Aerospace and JPMorgan. He then co-founded financial risk technology company, RiskMetrics Group, unique among Wall Street with the mantra: Change the World, Have Fun and Make Money — In That Order. His next move? He is now CEO of a tech startup called NextThought, an education platform built to connect learners with quality content, a social community, and an environment that encourages and enhances collaboration.
